Proverb #497

E were ihe eji egbu nnụnnụ; gbuo nnụnnụ, nsogbu a gaghị adị. Kama e were ihe a na ejighi egbu nnụnnụ gbuo nnụnnụ, iwe ewee ọha nnụnnụ.

Editorial:
This proverb to my mind, bears the same sense as  'Don't kill an ant with a sledge hammer' - an idiom of English Language. Literally our proverb means  - 'If a catapult /sling shot is used to kill birds, perhaps birds wouldn't take umbrage, but if you employ disproportionate force or introduce new-fangled weapons in the killing of birds, ... beware! - the whole flock comes to justice.' A paraphrase instead of a translation.

Odengalasị as the giver of the proverb, must have angles and interpretations for his proverb and the main wall or main space has been reserved for this as well as other summaries.
