Editorial

The giver of the proverb has produced a simple powerful idiomatic  piece of speech which our people use to
express in a proverb the sense of trouble. Simply means 'Here be trouble or There is trouble'. Literally the
picture is a poisonous snake crawling about meddling in one of our old thatched roofs ... powerful!!!

Proverb #631

“Onye (na) enweghị ihe obu, anaghị akụwa ihe.”

Editorial:
The giver of the proverb didn't give the bracketed sense - (na - that) ... The literal English: The person that has not carried a thing, a pot for instance, cannot break anything. The form of the sentence without 'na' - works just fine - a kind of attitudinal speaking.
