Proverb #133

In a posthumous dip of the red -
feathered cap to Archdeacon Dennis
and his great Work.

“Lee k'osi di mma
K'osi dị kwa utọ nke ukuu
Bụ mbikọ nke umunne
Ọbụna ibikọ n'otu.

Ọ di ka ezi mmanụ ahụ
Nke n'adị n'isi
Nke n'eruda na'afọ ọnụ
Bụ afọ ọnụ Aaron.

Nke n'eruda na'ọnụnụ
Uwe nwụda ya nile.
Dịka ịgirigi Hermon
Nke n'adakwasị n'ugwu nile
nke Zion.

Nihi na n'ebe ahụ
Ka Jehova nyere ngọzị ahụ
iwu; bụ ndụ rue mgbe ebighi ebi.” 

Editorial 

We have used some 'Poetic License' here. It is a parallel, as this is the 133rd Psalm of the Holy Bible appearing as our 133rd Igbo Proverb. In the light of other comments appearing here on the Blog as part of our editorialising, seeming to disparage Archdeacon Dennis' work with our language, here is evidence of genuine respect for his undertaking. This is also a faulty indulgence in 'Central or Union Igbo' on this Editor's part.

It is the Hebrew Psalm celebrating the pleasantry of fellowship among brethren such as we are rediscovering with Igbo language. It does not appear except as a link among the work of the group. This is a parallel. This contribution has been made from a faulty memory. The graphic as it appears to the right shows a more perfect copy.
